Translating the Sustainable Development Goals into reality is the theme of a joint Norway-UN seminar, which will be held 12 June in Norway House, Brussels.
The question raised in the seminar is: “How can Norway and Europe contribute to a sustainable future through high quality education, research and innovation?”
The UN/UNDP in Brussels, the Norwegian Contact office for research, innovation and education (NorCore) and Norway’s Mission to the EU are the co-organizers of the event the purpose of which, is the exchange of ideas and examples of how we can contribute to making the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) a reality. The event is held on the occasion of Norway Day 2018.
After short speeches by Iselin Nybø, the Norwegian Minister of Research and Higher Education; Barbara Pesce-Monteiro, Director of the UN/UNDP office in Brussels and the business philosopher Anders Indset, there will presentations of three different projects.
Alf Inge Wang from the Institute for Data Technology and Informatics, NTNU will present Kahoot, a game-based learning and trivia platform which is used in classrooms, offices and social settings.
Co-founder Christine Spiten presents Blueye Robotics, the world’s finest underwater drone for ocean exploration.
Morten Wolden, the chief executive, City of Trondheim will give a presentation about carbon neutral cities – and smarter and more sustainable regions.
