Happy UNBlue Day!

26.10.2015 – The world turned bluon Saturday 24th October in celebration of the United Nations’ 70th birthday.

More than 350 iconic monuments, buildings, landscapes, museums, bridges, and other landmarks in more than 85 countries across the globe were lit up blue - the official colour of the United Nations - to show their support for the UN and to raise awareness of its work for our planet and its people.

United Nations Day, 24th October of every year, marks the anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Charter. With the ratification of this founding document by the majority of its signatories, including the five permanent members of the Security Council, the Organization officially came into being.
