14 September 2011 – The Palestinian Authority (PA) has accomplished the tasks it set out to achieve two years ago to prepare its institutions for the responsibilities of statehood, but there remains a widening gap between that progress and the stagnant political process, according to a United Nations report.

UN marks 10th anniversary of terrorist attacks against United States

13 September 2011 – Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon took the United Nations pulpit live to cyberspace for the first time Tuesday, answering questions submitted through Facebook, LiveStream, Twitter and other social media networks on issues ranging from UN reform and the Middle East conflict to poverty and food security.

9 September 2011 – The United Nations marked the 10th anniversary of the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States with a solemn commemoration in the General Assembly Hall, music, poetry and a vow to intensify the battle against terror wherever it is perpetrated in the world.
